Swim Background / Experience / Childhood & adult
I started swimming through my neighborhood summer league team at about 5 then I decided to join Alamo Area Aquatics Association when I was 11 to swim year round. I was state champion in the 200 IM for Texas my senior year representing John Marshall High School. I swam in college for the University of the Incarnate Word. While there I swam at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 200 Breaststroke and 200 IM.
Teaching Experience (anything with kids or instruction – even if not in the water)
I have done community service through an organization called SAYL (San Antonio Youth Literacy) where I taught children how to read. I coached at swim camps for Streamline Aquatics helping kids of all ages improve their swimming skills.
I’ve met many Olympians including Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, and Missy Franklin. I love to play Ultimate Frisbee. My favorite stroke is the Butterfly.
Why you like working at MGR / Or what do you look forward to if you are newish?
I like being able to help the kids to do something that they couldn’t do before and seeing the excitement when they realize that they are improving.
